Non Woven Solutions, LLC

N WS was formed in May 2007 by a group of investor partners who saw a distinct void in the nonwovens supply chain that could only be filled with a new production line, and thus a new company. The ‘void’ was a strategically located manufacturer of very clean, very uniform needlepunched nonwovens centrally located in the United States.
 
The investor group, which includes Frank Porto and Steve Brown created the new company, aptly named Non Woven Solutions, LLC.  A lifetime of experience in the nonwovens industry sets this management team apart from the industry standard. Tom Marth joined NWS in October 2011 as a partner and Vice President of Sales, bringing a wealth of knowledge to this already stellar line up.

The line was built inside a 50,000 square foot building in Lakemoor, Illinois. It has been specified with the latest technology available.  Non Woven Solutions, LLC runs optically brightened and natural, synthetic fibers in denier ranges from 1d – 15d. NWS will operate the line according to GMP medical grade standards.  In addition to needlepunch nonwoven processing, the plant has been further equipped to surface treat with flame singeing, calendaring, and also precision slit/rewind in both roll-to-roll and single-knife style.

News

September 2011 - Non Woven Solutions announced the commissioning of a brand new, state-of-the-art nonwoven production line capable of widths up to 168”. Fabric weights from 2 oz/sy up to 24 oz/sy are possible. Orders for equipment were placed in February of 2011 and the line was fully operational by mid-December of 2011. Both the card and opening & blending portions are being specified to accommodate an even greater percentage of very fine denier fibers. Additional needling capacity is now in place to increase operational efficiencies. As with previous installations, this line has the ability to make up to 22 individual slit widths in a single doff. New to this line was fully automated roll doffing-transfer-wrapping in order to provide the cleanest possible materials for very sensitive end user applications in fields such as wound care, personal care and food processing.
